The School Sustainability project was designed to help schools become more sustainable by educating about the benefits of recycling and environmental stewardship.
BTNEP has set up recycling programs in four schools within the estuary for one year. A recycling dumpster was placed at the school and several recycling bins were placed throughout each campus. BTNEP also educated about the importance of recycling at an assembly at each school. Students were responsible to keep track of how many bags of recyclables per week they collect. Each school was required to submit a report on the success of the program and whether the school will decide to continue the program.
